CHILDREN’S BOOK CREATORS FOR CONSERVATION TRIP

SOUTH AFRICA 2025

SEPTEMBER 6th-20th, 2025

Wild Tomorrow is pleased to partner with the Children’s Book Creators for Conservation 2025 group for an extraordinary conservation experience in Zululand, South Africa, from the 6th to the 20th of September, 2025! This immersive trip will take you behind the scenes of Wild Tomorrow’s critical conservation work as your join our dedicated staff in hands-on activities, from reserve work alongside our fearless team of Green Mambas to unique wildlife interventions (such as a rhino dehorning, elephant collaring, or pangolin tracking).

This is more than just a trip — it’s an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to wildlife conservation while drawing inspiration from the beauty and resilience of the natural world. As children’s book writers and illustrators, you will have the unique chance to use your creative talents to bring awareness to the importance of conservation. Through storytelling and art, you can amplify the message of protecting endangered species and the wild places they call home. We look forward to creating unforgettable memories with you as we work together to ensure a wild tomorrow!

WHAT IS COVERED IN THE PRICE OF THE TRIP?

The total cost of your two-week Conservation Experience Trip is $3950 (of which $2000 is tax-deductible). In the name of transparency, here is how this figure is calculated:

  • $1950 is the COST of the trip. This pays for all accommodation, meals, in-country travel, and all day & night activities. This portion is not tax-deductible.

  • $2000 is a direct DONATION in support of Wild Tomorrow’s critical conservation work. This includes the activities that you will personally participate in, for example, a wildlife intervention (such as a rhino dehorning or elephant collaring - costly exercises involving helicopters and wildlife vets). Your donation also supports our important habitat conservation work including anti-poaching ranger costs, fencing, and animal reintroductions. As this is a donation, it is tax-deductible. Many volunteers choose to crowdfund this portion (and we can help you to set up your personal fundraising page or provide you with content for social media pages/posts).

Included in the price of our trips:

  • Pick up and drop off from Richards Bay Regional Airport.

  • Thirteen nights of accommodation at 3-4 star lodges, tented accommodation, and/or beach cottages.

  • All meals including breakfast, packed or picnic lunches, and evening meals.

  • Guided recreation including park entrance fees and conservation levies.

  • On-the-ground transportation.

What’s not included:

  • International flights to South Africa and domestic flights to Richards Bay Regional Airport.

  • Personal travel insurance.

  • Any alcoholic beverages or additional snacks you may wish to have.

  • Spending and tip money.
