for a two-week

Are you passionate about the wildlife of Africa? Do you feel a deep calling to protect its most vulnerable species and habitats? If so, we have the perfect adventure for you.
Embark on a once-in-a-lifetime Conservation Experience with Wild Tomorrow, where you’ll actively contribute to protecting and restoring South Africa’s biodiversity-rich landscapes. Our growing Greater Ukuwela Nature Reserve has now expanded beyond 3,500 acres, securing even more vital habitat for wildlife at risk from agricultural expansion. Thanks to the generousity of conservationists around the world, the land was saved just in time — ensuring a future for species both large and small!
Located within one of the planet’s 36 biodiversity hotspots, our reserve is a critical wildlife corridor connecting protected areas. Bordered by a river to the north and agricultural lands to the south, it serves as a lifeline for elephants, leopards, antelope, and countless other species. But our work is far from done.
This is where you come in. Your participation directly fuels conservation efforts, from habitat restoration to wildlife research, anti-poaching support, and community upliftment. This year, with our expanded research initiatives, you’ll have the unique opportunity to conduct species surveys, assist with bioblitzes, and help set small mammal traps to document previously unrecorded species — playing an essential role in understanding and preserving our ecosystem.
Beyond research, you’ll be part of our ambitious rewilding and habitat restoration project — helping to plant indigenous trees, rehabilitate degraded landscapes, and create new wild spaces for Africa’s most iconic and elusive species, including the tiny Suni antelope, giraffes, rhinos, and even the powerful African elephant.
With small group sizes capped at just 9 guests, this is far more than a tourist experience — it’s an immersive, hands-on conservation mission. You’ll work alongside expert rangers, ecologists, conservation managers, and community leaders, gaining firsthand insight into the challenges and triumphs of protecting Africa’s wilderness. And in the midst of it all, you’ll experience the raw beauty of the African bush — forging a deep, personal, connection with nature that will stay with you forever.
Rewild your heart, make a tangible impact, and be part of something truly meaningful! Join us on this unforgettable two-week journey and become a guardian of the wild.

EDUCATION

Beyond the Fieldwork: Deepend Your Conservation Knowledge!
In addition to hands-on conservation work, you’ll gain invaluable insight into the complexities of conservation with our team of ecologists, conservationists, and rangers. Through field discussions, guided research, and practical involvement, you’ll leave with a deeper understanding of the critical challenges and solutions in African conservation.
Habitat Conservation & Rewilding: Restoring wild spaces is at the heart of Wild Tomorrow’s mission. Learn about habitat loss, fragmentation, ecological connectivity, and carrying capacity — the key principles shaping conservation today. With our expanded land holdings, we’ll discuss our rewilding efforts and why securing habitat corridors is crucial for species survival.
Rhino Conservation & Anti-Poaching Strategies: South Africa is home to 80% of the world’s remaining rhinos, yet they are under constant threat from poaching. Gain an on-the-ground perspective on the rhino poaching crisis in KwaZulu-Natal, learn about modern anti-poaching techniques, and discover how conservation teams are working tirelessly to protect this iconic species.
Sand Forest Conservation: Protecting an Endangered Habitat: Step into one of South Africa’s most endangered ecosystems, the Dry Sand Forest, and witness conservation in action! Visit False Bay Park, learn about Wild Tomorrow’s expanding Sand Forest Restoration Project, and assist in species monitoring — keeping an eye out for the rare sand forest specialists like the elusive Suni antelope.
Giraffe Conservation: The ‘Silent Extinction’: Africa’s giraffe population has plummeted by 40% in the past 30 years yet their decline remains largely unnoticed. At our Greater Ukuwela Nature Reserve, now a legally protected habitat, giraffes have been successfully reintroduced. Learn about giraffe conservation efforts and, if you’re lucky, help us update our Giraffe ID Kit by identifying individuals based on their unique spot patterns!
Preserving Wetland Ecosystems: Wetlands are among the most vital yet threatened ecosystems on Earth. Discover why they are crucial for biodiversity, flood control, and water filtration, and how Wild Tomorrow is helping to protect iSimangaliso Wetland Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Elephant Conservation & The Need for Wildlife Corridors: As human expansion encroaches on wildlife spaces, connective corridors are becoming increasingly essential for large species like elephants. Learn about the challenges elephants face in South Africa, including human wildlife-conflict, habitat loss, and migration restrictions, and how conservationists are working to ensure their survival!
The ‘Little Things’ Matter! Insects, Birds & Biodiversity: Conservation isn’t just about the big and charismatic species — it’s about every creature, big and small. Join our expert ecologists in unconvering the hidden world of invertebrates, plants, amphibians, and birds that call Zululand home. Whether it’s identifying rare butterflies, listening for frog calls, or spotting elusive birds, you’ll gain a newfound appreciation for the incredible biodiversity of the African bush.
