for a two-week
Are you passionate about the wildlife of Africa? Do you feel deeply about securing a bright future for these incredible animals? If so, we have the perfect adventure for you.
Explore the untamed beauty of Wild Tomorrow’s newly established wildlife reserve in South Africa, where over 3,200 acres of precious habitat have been safeguarded against the encroaching threat of agricultural development. Thanks to the generous support of donors across the world, this land was saved in the nick of time!
Located within one of the planet’s 36 biodiversity hotspots, our Greater Ukuwela Nature Reserve boasts a strategic location - bordered by a river to the north and pineapple farms to the south, it forms a vital wildlife corridor linking expansive reserves and is crucial for the survival of countless species.
But our work is far from over. Your participation becomes invaluable as we strive to rehabilitate and rewild the reserve, equip and train anti-poaching rangers, and support and uplift local communities. Your Conservation Experience trip directly funds these efforts, allowing you to immerse yourself in hands-on conservation work and see the value of your donation firsthand.
You will be a part of our ambitious habitat restoration project, where every tree planted and habitat restored creates new wild spaces for iconic threatened species, from the majestic African elephants and giraffes to elusive leopards and tiny Suni antelopes, and other amazing animals, plants, insects, and ecosystems. Rewild your heart and reconnect with nature on this unique two-week experience.
With group sizes limited to just 9 guests, this isn’t your typical tourist experience. You’ll become part of our team, working alongside rangers, conservation managers, and community leaders. And amidst the conservation work, you’ll have the chance to marvel at the sights and sounds of Africa’s wilderness, rekindling your connection with nature on this unforgettable two-week journey!

CONSERVATION
EDUCATION
In addition to the hands-on conservation fieldwork, you will also learn about the complexities of conservation with insights from our team of ecologists and conservationists.
Habitat Conservation: Habitat Conservation is at the core of Wild Tomorrow’s work. We’ll discuss the major concepts and scientific principles including habitat loss, fragmentation, the importance of connectivity and its impact on carrying capacity, and more.
Rhino Conservation: South Africa has the largest population of rhinos left on our planet (80%) and is currently facing a huge poaching crisis. Learn about the realities on the ground in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, and the anti-poaching methods being deployed.
Sand Forest Conservation: Learn about one of South Africa’s most endangered habitats, the Dry Sand Forest. You’ll visit our neighbors at False Bay Park, learn about our Sand Forest Restoration Project, and be on the lookout for sand forest-dwelling species such as the suni antelope.
Giraffe Conservation: Learn about the ’silent extinction’ of giraffe in Africa. Wild Tomorrow's Greater Ukuwela Nature Reserve is now a legally protected habitat where giraffes have been reintroduced. You may even be asked to assist us in updating our giraffe ID kit!
Wetland Conservation: Learn about the importance of wetlands to our ecosystem and how Wild Tomorrow is helping to protect a UNESCO World Heritage Site, iSimangaliso Wetland Park.
Elephant Conservation in Southern Africa: Learn about the issues facing elephants in South Africa and the need for connective corridors to address the challenges.
Little Things: Appreciate the smaller things in life. Our team of knowledgeable ecologists and staff will enlighten you on a wide array of invertebrates, plants, and birds home to the Zululand region of South Africa.
SAFARI
There will also be plenty of time to relax and indulge in leisurely moments amidst the splendor of African wildlife during safari excursions. Encounter the majestic elephants, rhinos, lions, and an array of other captivating species that call South Africa home. In addition to Wild Tomorrow’s Greater Ukuwela Nature Reserve, you will visit:
Hluluwe-iMfolozi Wildlife Reserve. The oldest proclaimed Nature Reserve in all of South Africa and considered one of the most important reserves for rhino conservation, this game reserve will provide ample opportunities to see and photograph breeding herds of elephants, rhinos, and other Big Five animals.
St. Lucia Hippo-Croc Boat Cruise. Hop on a boat for an exhilarating journey up one of the largest estuarine systems in Africa, and South Africa's first UNESCO World Heritage Site, the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. Home to one of the largest populations of hippos in the country, keep your eyes peeled for the iconic hippos, sun-basking Nile crocodiles, and a wide variety of bird species!
Sodwana Bay. Renowned for its rich biodiversity both above and below the water’s surface, Sodwana Bay beckons with its stretches of untouched coastline, offering a rejuvenating beach getaway after your conservation endeavors in the bush. While Sodwana’s reef system may not match the sheer size of the Great Barrier Reef, it boasts an astonishing diversity of marine life, with estimates suggesting it harbors over 2/3rds of the fish species found there. For certified divers or snorkeling enthusiasts, we can arrange an unforgettable add-on experience to explore these vibrant underwater realms.
Upscale Big Five Game Drive. Live the life of luxury on a Big Five game drive at one of the neighboring properties! Accompanied by expert rangers aboard open safari vehicles, witness the awe-inspiring majesty of lions, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos, alongside graceful zebra, towering giraffe, and a plethora of other captivating plains game.
