STEVEN SPARLING
BOARD DIRECTOR

How did you become inspired to help African wildlife conservation?

As a child I developed a keen interest in documentaries and programs about lions and other African wildlife. I was fascinated by the social structure of prides and herds and the beauty of the land. My adult, professional life has been dedicated to helping people in need, and when John and Wendy launched Wild Tomorrow it provided a wonderful opportunity to extend my commitment to community to the conservation of African wildlife. One of Wild Tomorrow’s earliest messages – ensuring that there is a wild tomorrow for future generations – struck a chord with me. My children and future generations should know, respect, and protect these incredible animals in their natural environment.

Why did you choose to join the Board?

I have been impressed with the deep and broad impact Wild Tomorrow has had in Africa, including in the local community. I have been involved with the organization since its inception and impressed with its success and growth over the years. I was honored to be asked to join the Board and will bring my professional experience and passion for the organization’s mission to help Wild Tomorrow continue and expand its critical work.

What inspires you the most about Wild Tomorrow’s mission?

Wild Tomorrow’s wholistic strategy to conservation. It protects thousands of acres of land in Africa, preserves and cares for animals on and beyond those acres, partners with like-minded organizations to form a critical support network, and employees and educates the local community. There is a fundamental connection between the land, the animals, and people to preserve. Wild Tomorrow is doing that.
