NEW $KOJI GENERATES CRYPTO DONATION FOR HABITAT PROTECTION

A newly minted cryptocurrency token $KOJI raised over US$200,000 in charitable funds in only 6 days since its launch. Wild Tomorrow Fund was honored to be the first charity recipient of a KOJI charity donation, with the funds sent as ETH cryptocurrency to our wallet this week. The KOJI team decided to direct their donation to two of our most urgent needs: saving habitat by helping us to complete the Ukuwela land purchase, and supporting the livelihoods of our rangers by funding their salaries. This is tangible real-world impact, generated in cyberspace! Our policy is to convert straight away to USD to lock in the donation and not take investment risk. The 6 ETH was converted to USD immediately on receipt by our wallet held at the Gemini exchange here in New York. We use The Giving Block to make our crypto donations smooth, compliant and automated.

The generous donation from KOJI will be allocated as follows:

·       Habitat protection: US $10,000 will be used to fund the purchase of the equivalent of 10 acres of land at Wild Tomorrow Fund’s Ukuwela wildlife reserve in South Africa.

·       Wildlife protection: US $5380 will be used to fund the full-time salaries and benefits for two individual rangers at the reserve for 6 months. Rangers are the frontline defenders of wildlife, “the thin green line” who patrol daily and ensure that the Reserve’s precious wildlife is protected from poachers and their wire snares. They are a critical component of protecting a wildlife reserve while also creating employment in their rural community. Each ranger is a breadwinner for their family supporting on average 6 dependents each.

Saving habitat does not come cheap. It takes an international community from crypto-entrepreneurs to bankers, lawyers, artists, accountants, vets, pilots, jewelry makers and more, coming together as a community to save the world’s wild places acre by acre. Saving habitat is critical to the health of our planet and the millions of other species we share it with. By protecting and restoring nature we can safeguard biodiversity, help limit climate change & improve human well being.
