We are delighted to announce our newest Wild Tomorrow Fund Ambassador, John Byrne. John is a media executive working for Vevo and conservation is music to his ears. From as far back as he can remember, he’d ask to stay up late to watch National Geographic documentaries and read about big cats and primates. His enthusiasm for the natural world has never waned-- John majored in Environmental Policy at Fordham University and had the privilege of interning at renowned environmental organizations such as Earthjustice and Panthera.

John was introduced to Wild Tomorrow by fellow Ambassador, Jessica Masters, who knew of his deep interest in and passion for the protection and rehabilitation of wild ecosystems. Wild Tomorrow’s Ambassadors are special individuals who are passionate about our mission to save wildlife and wild places. They use their unique talents and their public profile to bring extra support and exposure for Wild Tomorrow’s work.

John believes that one of the most important roles humans can play is to preserve wild ecosystems for future generations to see and experience.

“I believe the protection and rehabilitation of wild ecosystems is one of the most important roles we as humans can play during our time on this planet.” said John. “I hope that future generations are able to see and experience all of the amazing wildlife in existence today, and the work that Wild Tomorrow Fund does-- that is, to re-wild crucial areas of biodiversity and create corridors for disparate populations of endangered species-- is as crucial as it gets!”

While it is people from around the world that have put enormous pressure on our planet's biodiversity, it is also people who must come together to solve this crisis and protect and restore biodiversity - both globally and locally. From our Ambassadors in New York to our rangers and Green Mambas on the ground in KwaZulu-Natal South Africa, we can work together to restore and repair the natural world. Thinking globally and acting locally, it is our community work that also really spoke to John as a key reason he was super ready to jump on board and join the team.

As you can see from his profile shot, John is also an avid biker and loves cycling around Central Park, up north on the Hudson River, and riding out to the Rockaways. Riding is a wonderful way to connect to nature: "I get to see waterfront cliffside scenery, bald eagles, deer, waterfalls, and so much more."

John’s first goal is to raise money for Wild Tomorrow by cycling 75 miles over one amazing weekend from April 28-30th as part of our partnership with Climate Ride. He will be joined by Wild Tomorrow’s co-founders Wendy and John Steward, and our dedicated Canadian teammate Jeff Phillips joining us all the way from Toronto! 100% of all funds raised by the team will benefit Wild Tomorrow’s work.
