May 15-24, 2027
for the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon AND Conservation Experience at Wild Tomorrow’s Greater Ukuwela Nature Reserve in KwaZulu-Natal.
CAPE TOWN IS NOW AN ABBOTT WORLD MAJOR MARATHON!
Sierra (Team Elephant Cape Town Marathon runner 2025) jumping for joy after finishing the Marathon…and knowing that the Cape Town Marathon is now an Abbott World Major Marathon!
Make your miles matter by running with Wild Tomorrow’s “Team Elephant” in the Cape Town Marathon. May 2027 will be their first race since becoming an Abbott World Major Marathon…but don’t come all the way to South Africa just for the race!
The week before the race, join us in Hluhluwe, KwaZulu-Natal, to visit Wild Tomorrow’s Greater Ukuwela Nature Reserve and take part in a conservation experience trip, seeing the impact of your run firsthand, funding our wildlife conservation work. Then, take on one of the world’s most breathtaking cities, Cape Town, the weekend of the race (For those with partners who aren’t marathon runners, they are welcome to join the volunteer trip with you. There are also 5km, 10km and 22km spectacular trail run options on Saturday ahead of the marathon).
Join our team, and run to protect wildlife and preserve habitats for a better tomorrow and enjoy the stunning sights and sounds of South Africa — while leaving the travel planning to us. Read about our 2026 Team’s epic experience here.
