COMEDY FOR CONSERVATION

Our planet’s wildlife is in trouble – and laughter is the best medicine! On Tuesday night June 11th, 200 New Yorkers came together to laugh out loud supporting wildlife conservation at Wild Tomorrow’s annual Comedy for Conservation event at Gotham Comedy Club.

With depressing articles and news about threatened wildlife and habitat destruction bombarding us daily, New York City turned the narrative around with an evening of laughter. Just under 200 inspired animal lovers - including current & future volunteers, dedicated donors, board members and ambassadors - gathered to make our 2024 Conservation Comedy event at Gotham Comedy Club a roaring success!

Host of the evening, Ophira Eisenburg, who hosted NPR’s comedy trivia show Ask Me Another for 9-years, got the crowd going along with four Amazing NYC Comedians: Charles Mcbee, Jon Fisch, Gina Brillon, Jourdain Fisher. Thanks to their talents, our guests enjoyed a night of laughter and fun, raising support for our efforts to protect and restore a wildlife corridor on South Africa's Elephant Coast!

Not only did guests laugh for an hour and a half, they also actively supported our re-wildling work (the reintroduction of wildlife to our Nature Reserve in South Africa). During our live appeal, it was incredible to see hands shoot up across the room, in support of our new serval rehabilitation and rewilding program.

As a result, rescued servals, rehabilitated by our partners at FreeMe Wildlife, now have a new chance at a wild life at our reserve. Funds raised during the auction will support our new research project tracking and monitoring released rehabilitated servals in the region.

A day without laughter is a day wasted. And we know that our guests had as much fun as we did at our Annual Comedy for Conservation event. We were thrilled to see the room so packed with wildlife lovers from around the city - and beyond. See you next year!

Special thanks to our ambassador Charles Chessler for his event photography. If you find yourself in one of the awesome photos in the event gallery, please share on social media and tag @wildtomorrowfund and @charleschesslerphotography
