COMMUNITY FOOD RELIEF
Today, families in rural communities living next to our wildlife reserve are facing hungry weeks and months ahead due to the COVID-19 crisis. The majority of the population residing nearby to our wildlife reserve cannot afford to stockpile groceries and many rely on employment from wildlife reserve lodges and tourism which are closed due to the pandemic.
Wild Tomorrow Fund's hunger relief initiative is providing urgently needed food to families who have been left with no food on the table due to the impacts of the COVID-19 crisis. Children, in particular, are at risk - the majority of children in our local community depend on a meal from school, which has closed under a strict nation-wide lockdown.
Each food parcel contains flour, maize meal, rice, cooking oil, vegetables and canned fish and costs roughly $35. This will ensure that these families can at the least put food on their table for 1 month.
