JESSICA MASTERS LOMBARD
BOARD DIRECTOR
How did you become inspired to help African wildlife conservation?
In 2014 I went on vacation to South Africa with my girlfriends and ended up falling in love with our Safari Guide at Kirkman's Kamp. We dated long distance for three years and during that time we travelled extensively throughout Africa going on close to 10 safaris in 5 different countries. Needless to say I was hooked and with every trip I was becoming more and more inspired to take part in conserving African wildlife. Once my son was born I knew this was a calling in my life to ensure there are wild places and wild animals here for his generation as well as generations to come.
Why did you choose to join the Board?
I have been an Ambassador to Wild Tomorrow for the last 4 years or so and always had an interest in joining the board. When I saw Wendy post about open applications I jumped right on it and am so excited to be joining officially and continuing to contribute in any way I can to our mission.
What inspires you the most about Wild Tomorrow's mission?
What inspires me the most is Wild Tomorrow’s approach. You can't just think about saving animals but you need to have a thoughtful and all encompassing strategy. Which is exactly how Wild Tomorrow operates by focusing on the three key pillars for success: habitat protection, wildlife protection and community support. All three things are inherently intertwined and all need focus and attention in order to achieve conservation goals.
