Jono is based in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, where he and his partner Rebekka run Kusasa, the Wild Tomorrow donor house set in the valley of the Mzinene river. A keen wildlife enthusiast, he has over 20 years of guiding experience across Southern Africa’s premier wilderness areas, including time spent living and working in Botswana and the Kruger National Park. Known for his sharp eye for tracking, Jono is also passionate about birdwatching and the intricate details of the natural world.

His love for nature extends beyond the bush to the ocean, where marine life continues to fuel his curiosity and sense of wonder. Together with Rebekka, he is dedicated to conservation, hospitality, and creating meaningful experiences for Kusasa’s guests. Their shared vision is to bring people closer to wild places in authentic and transformative ways, while fostering a deeper appreciation for both community and conservation.
