ELEPHANT PROTECTION
Wild Tomorrow Fund is working to safeguard the future of elephants in Southern Africa. We train, equip and support the rangers who keep them safe. We have helped reserves to collar their elephants where necessary for monitoring and to study their movements. We are also working with climate scientists and biologists to study the impact of climate change on elephant populations and their vegetation. We provide emergency funding for veterinary costs and helicopter fees (for elephants that break out of reserves). We have also helped to shut down ivory markets outside of Africa, and are working on a study of seized ivory to understand where the poached elephants came from to aid international law enforcement. Last year, we helped moved 53 elephants from South Africa to a new home in Zinave National Park, Mozambique, saving their lives and enabling their herds to increase.
Our biggest project for the benefit of elephants is habitat protection. Our wildlife corridor in KwaZulu-Natal South Africa will expand habitat for elephants and all other species who share their ecosystems by creating new protected habitat that will expand and connect with existing wildlife reserves in KwaZulu-Natal South Africa.
Help us to continue to protect elephants!
