PLANT A TREE
GROW A FOREST
Dry Sand Forest is South Africa’s most endangered forest type, providing critical habitat for many endemic and rare plants including mosses, ferns, orchids, trees, and threatened animals including the dwarf suni antelope. Our project goal is to restore sand forest at the Greater Ukuwela Nature Reserve, planting a total of 15,000 trees of 20 native sand forest varieties in the next two years.
Support the restoration of this very threatened and very special forest by planting a native sand forest tree. Your donation funds the collection of native seeds from our existing remnant forest, management of the nursery where these seeds will grow over 2-3 years, clearing of alien plants from the restoration area by our Green Mambas team, and the purchase of saplings.
