How can we imagine a world in which elephants no longer exist in the wild? It is shocking to learn that 27,000 African elephants are killed each year to feed demand for their ivory tusks. It is not a crisis of the past - the killing continues today, day after day. In the last seven years, African elephants have plummeted in population by a staggering 30%, primarily due to poaching, according to the Great Elephant Census. On average, an elephant is killed every 15 minutes for its tusks. 

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Time is short. We must act now. In order to save elephants, we need stronger and better equipped anti-poaching rangers, we need political will to shut down both international and domestic ivory markets, we need demand reduction campaigns, and we need better intelligence to go after the criminal networks that control the ivory trade.
