ZACH RUSSELL
Zach is currently a Vice President in the ESG Controllers group at JPMorganChase, where he has currently been for the past year. Currently overseeing the firm’s calculation and disclosure of various environmental regulatory reports, most notably the CSRD. Prior to his role at the firm, he has held numerous audit and reporting roles in the financial, consulting, and energy industries for over thirteen years.
His passion for environmental conservation started early, fueled by summer long road trips with his family to camp in National Parks across the US and Canada. However, his love for Africa started about ten years ago while on assignment for an oil and gas company in Mozambique. The profound impact of the region and its people on Zach and his wife is evident in their decision to marry in the Stellenbosch area near Cape Town in April 2024. Over the past seven years, they have had the chance to embark on numerous safaris in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. These experiences have strengthened their commitment to advocating not only for the region and its people but also for its wildlife, with a special focus on protecting pangolins and wild dogs.
When he's not working or traveling, Zach enjoys several hobbies, including watching baseball—especially his favorite team, the Houston Astros—playing golf, building Lego sets, and collecting whiskeys. He and his wife, Tina, are also devoted dog parents to Bailey, a rescue lab. Originally from Houston, Texas, Zach holds a Master's degree in Sustainability Management from Columbia University and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin.
