ROARING WITH LAUGHTER AT OUR NEW YORK COMEDY NIGHT

A raucous crowd of 160 animal-loving New Yorkers joined Wild Tomorrow to support wildlife conservation at our annual comedy night! Together, we raised just under $10,000 to protect and restore habitat for threatened and endangered species.

Wild Tomorrow’s co-founders John Steward and Wendy Hapgood tell the story of Cleopatra, a rescued and rehabilitated serval who has been released onto our Greater Ukuwela Nature Reserve in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, with the help of Izzy Nesci, a member of our inaugural junior board. This week, Wild Tomorrow’s Big Apple-based supporters reveled in a rollicking evening of standup comedy in aid of wildlife conservation. At New York’s renowned Gotham Comedy Club, we roared with laughter at sets by Kunal Arora, Julio Diaz, Ariel Elias, Erin Jackson, Harrison Greenbaum, and — a surprise guest — Jim Gaffigan!

The other stars of the show were servals. Three of these small wild cats now call Wild Tomorrow's Greater Ukuwela Nature Reserve home. At the end of the evening, Steve and Maria Sparling successfully bid to name and sponsor a beautiful serval released onto our reserve. Their donation will help fund a tracking collar for little “Cleopatra.”

Learn more about our serval rewilding project in our short documentary video featuring “Catsup,” who was named and sponsored at our last year’s comedy night!

Thank you to our board members, junior board members, ambassadors, volunteers, Team Elephant runners, and donors who joined us to make the night a success for wildlife. We’re very grateful to Calea Stiles, who generously donated her time and photography skills on the night.

Wild Tomorrow extends an elephant-sized thank you to Izzy Nesci, a member of our inaugural junior board, and her family, who brought dozens of their friends, neighbors, and colleagues. Izzy and the Nescis have supported Wild Tomorrow for many years, and the enthusiasm of these social butterflies always make our comedy nights a hit!

A day without laughter is a day wasted. And we know that our guests had as much fun as we did at our Annual Comedy for Conservation event. We were thrilled to see the room so packed with wildlife lovers from around the city, standing up for wildlife. See you next year!
