YOUR BUSH HOME AWAY FROM HOME
ACCOMMODATION
Your base camp, located at Wild Tomorrow’s Conservation Centre, is situated directly within our Greater Ukuwela Nature Reserve. Each spacious wooden chalet is a charming two-story haven blending rustic comfort with modern amenities.
Each chalet boasts two bedrooms (providing a cozy retreat after a day of meaningful conservation work!) and the accommodation is complete with a well-appointed bathroom, a kitchenette, a living/seating area, and an outdoor verandah where you can unwind while soaking in the sights and sounds of the surrounding bush.
Stay connected with the outside world using the WiFi available from the nearby Conference Centre, which conveniently reaches your chalet. Additionally, a shared common area awaits with space to relax, read, swim, and foster connections with fellow volunteers.
You’ll also spend one night inside a wildlife reserve falling asleep to the sounds of wildlife and one day and night on the coast exploring the beach and its coastal ecosystems.
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
You'll share accommodation with one or two other guests. If you're traveling with a companion, you're welcome to share a room with them. If you're traveling solo, we'll partner you up with someone of the same sex. A single room supplement is available if you prefer to have your own room.
MEALS
The accommodation has a nice kitchenette where we'll provide food for your breakfasts. Packed and/or picnic lunches will be provided when we're in the field and evening meals will be had out in town or prepared for you ahead of time in the common area. If you are gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, or have other food allergies or requirements, please let us know and we’ll be happy to accommodate. There will also be beer and wine available for purchase.
AMENITIES
There is a pool at the accommodation for a refreshing dip.
Laundry can be organized at an additional cost.
Potable drinking water will always be provided (bring a water bottle!), please note it IS safe to use the tap water for brushing teeth but we advise drinking the filtered water provided.
Your base camp has electricity and fans. There may be 1 or 2 nights slept out where there is no electricity, WiFi, or cell phone signal.
